Animal Statistics You Should Know:

  • 7 dogs/cats are born daily per person born in the U.S.  Of those, only 1 in 5 stay in their original home.  The remaining 4 are abandoned, or end up at a shelter (HSUS)
  • 56%+ of dogs/puppies entering shelters are killed, based on reports from over 1,055 facilities across America. (National Council on Pet Population Study)
  • An estimated 5 million dogs/cats are killed in shelters each year. That’s 1 about every 6 1/2 seconds.  (HSUS)  Millions more are abandoned to suffer from illness or injury before dying. (Doris Day Animal League)

Of these many abandoned or abused animals, HomeFur-ever currently is able to save and place in adoptive homes approximately 300 animals per year.  Our efforts to raise funds and increase community awareness of animal issues are geared toward increasing our ability to help more animals annually.

*Please note the animals found in the slide show above are not HomeFur-ever animals for adoption, but rather are representative of the animals in our care which change on a frequent basis due to adoptions.  Please click HERE to see animals currently available for adoption thru HomeFur-ever.

Aren't these sweet kids just adorable? Unfortunately, Skip, Rolex, Foxy, Bobbi, Tiffany, Pinta, Meisha, Buck, Houston, Champ and several other dogs we are caring for are currently being housed in a kennel since we are over-capacity for our available foster homes.  And because we have so many dogs in our care due to the tough economy in Michigan, we are desperately short of funds to keep them there.

Will you consider fostering any of these wonderful animals in your home? Or adopting one of them?  If neither is an option, would you make a small donation toward their care that will allow us to keep them safe in a kennel til foster homes can be found?

Please click HERE to learn all about the wonderful animals who desparately need your help.

If you will consider a donation to help with kennel expenses, it may be made via our website by clicking HERE.
