Missing HomeFur-ever Animals

Rusty (Barney) has been found!

Today, February 4th, he was found after more than 1 month missing.  He was found miles from where he went missing, and very near the home of his HomeFur-ever foster mother; obviously trying to find his way back to her and his girlfriend Katie, the mother of his puppies.

For the last week or so a nice young man had been leaving food for him and trying to make friends so he could get close enough to see his tags to find out where he belonged.  Finally he was able to see his tags, make a phone call, and HomeFur-ever group members rushed to retrieve him (along with Katie!).  While he was hesitant to come to the humans, the minute he saw Katie, he came running!

He is now on his way to the vet for medical treatment, but he appears to be in pretty good shape.  We are absolutely THRILLED to have such a happy ending!  Welcome home Barney!

Recently Adopted Rusty Now Missing

Rusty (formerly known as Barney) was recently adopted from HomeFur-ever, and is a 70 lb. male shepherd mix with orange/rust colored fur.

Rusty has been missing since approximately 1 a.m. Sunday morning from the Farmington Hills community in Southeast Michigan, specifically in the Middlebelt/Linden (9 ½ mile) area.

He is wearing a rust-colored collar with ID tags. Rusty (who may also still answer to Barney) is not at all aggressive, but can be fearful and so may be hard to approach. He's a very sweet dog and his adoptive parents are extremely anxious to find Rusty and bring him home to his loving family!

If you believe you've seen Rusty (Barney), please contact HomeFur-ever via phone at 313-897-4931, or email us at Homefurever@comcast.net, or send a message via our website.

UPDATE 1-4-10

Barney was last seen on the corner of Lamar and Stockton heading North towards Lanigan Elementary in Farmington Hills. The neighborhood lies between Orchard Lake and Middlebelt between 10 Mile Road and 9 Mile Road.  This last sighting is shortly after 1 a.m. on January 3, 2010.

He was wearing a Nylon Rust Brown collar with 2 ID tags; 1 tag from Home Fur-Ever, and the other personalized with the initials RRFW and the home cell phones for the owners.
