Our Featured Pets of the Week
This week our featured pets are Isabel and Ryder.

Isabel Ryder
Isabel is a wonderful medium sized Boxer/Pit mix with a great attitude who loves everyone she meets! She is housetrained, spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and is very good with kids, cats and other dogs! She’s currently living in a foster home where she’s been learning her manners, and she now knows how to sit and is learning how to walk on leash without pulling. She really enjoys running around the backyard and playing with the other foster dogs in her house. She also loves rope toys and balls to chase after. Isabel is a very affectionate dog who enjoys being petted and loves to cuddle. She’d be a great dog for a young family who can spend time playing with her and teaching her – as long as there’s lots of cuddling involved too!
Ryder is a wonderful white Boxer mix, of about 70 lbs, that appears that he may have some Dalmation in his bloodline because his undercoat and his ears have lots of black spots. He is absolutely a sweetheart!
Ryder is blind, so he’s a little cautious about meeting new dogs and going new places, but once he’s had time to learn the layout and spend some supervised time with any other animals he’s living with he does just great. He’s been in his current foster home about 8 months now and he walks around easily, and when he’s outside he runs with the other dogs just as if he was able to see as well as the rest of them. While Ryder gets along with all the other dogs in the home, he has made special friends with a female Boxer/Pit mix named Sammie. They’re almost always together; they wrestle, they run around together outside, and they spend most of their time laying next to each other in the house; he was exactly the same way with another Pit Mix who previously lived in the home. His foster Mom thinks that he has an exceptional loyalty to dogs that pay particular attention to him and will take the time to learn how to play with him in spite of his blindness – it seems that the slightly smaller dogs will do that, the larger dogs tend to just push him around, but he’s so good natured that he accepts it just fine.
His foster Mom says that he is one of the most affectionate dogs she has ever cared for. If she’s sitting on the bed watching TV, he’ll climb on the bed next to her and put his head on her shoulder and just stay there so she will pet him. He also loves to sit on her lap (truly thinks he’s the size of a lapdog, unfortunately, he’s a bit oversized for that! J ). He enjoys rope toys and hard toys he can chew on, and feeding time with him is a pleasure – when he hears Mom get his bowl he immediately walks into the room where he gets fed and patiently waits in his spot for his food to be brought to him. He’s just the cutest thing! If your family is search for a very loving, loyal family pet, Ryder is absolutely the dog for you.
