Our Adoption Criteria
- We prefer to place our animals in homes within the Detroit Metropolitan Area as it is our policy to conduct pre-adoption home visits and after-placement follow-ups to insure the safety and happiness of our animals, and the satisfaction and happiness of our adoptive families.
- At this time we are unable to facilitate adoptions outside the State of Michigan.
- All adoptive dogs that are considered "bully breeds" will require a wooden or metal fenced yard to be approved for adoption (electronic fences do not qualify, see the right column for more information).
- All adoptions require payment of an adoption fee ranging from $225 - $500 which covers a portion of medical fees, licensing fees, and other care provided to the animal while under the protection of the HomeFur-ever Animal Rescue organization.

The Issues With Electronic Fencing:
- Animals outside the yard are unaffected by the electronic fencing and may enter the yard unrestricted.
- Some dogs are unaffected by being 'zapped' by the electronic current, and therefore, it is unlikely to deter them from chasing another animal or other distraction which will cause them to leave the confines of the adoptive family property.
